What’s your favorite place to do outdoor photography sessions?

There’s no doubt that photography takes on a whole new level when done outdoors. Not only you have to contend with the elements, but you also have the bonus of breathtaking backdrops and natural lighting. Outdoor photography sessions can be challenging, but they’re also incredibly rewarding. Here are some of my favourite places to do outdoor photography sessions.

There are so many incredible places to do outdoor photography sessions! My personal favorite is in a wide-open field with the sun setting (or rising) in the background. The warm light creates such beautiful images! Other great places for outdoor photography sessions include forests, beaches, and gardens. Ultimately, it really depends on the vision of the photographer and what they are hoping to capture. But there are endless possibilities when it comes to outdoor photography locations!

What’s your favorite thing to photograph outdoors?

I love photographing outdoor sessions. They offer a wide variety of natural backgrounds, and they are always fun and relaxed. I feel very connected with my clients during outdoor sessions, and the results are always beautiful.

The light is also usually gorgeous outdoors, so it’s the perfect setting for portrait photography. I highly recommend outdoor photography sessions for anyone looking to capture natural and beautiful images of their loved ones.

What time of day is your favorite to shoot outdoor sessions?

There is no definitive answer to this question, as each photographer has their own preferences. However, there are certain times of day that tend to be more popular for outdoor photography sessions. The early morning hours often offer great lighting conditions and cooler temperatures, making them ideal for shoots that require a lot of movement or props. Late afternoon and early evening are also popular times to shoot, as the sun is low in the sky and creates beautiful golden light. Of course, weather conditions play a big role in determining when the best time to shoot is, so always be prepared with backup plans in case of rain or excessive heat. Ultimately, it’s up to the photographer to decide when they feel most creative and have the best light to work with.

-If you’re shooting in the morning, try to find a location that faces east so that you can take advantage of the golden hour – the first hour after sunrise when the light is soft and warm.

-If you’re shooting in the afternoon, look for a location that’s in a shade – midday sunlight can be very harsh.

-No matter what time of day it is, pay attention to the direction of the light and how you can take advantage of it!

How do you prepare for an outdoor session?

When preparing for an outdoor session, there are a few things to keep in mind.

  1. The first is to check the weather forecast and dress appropriately for the conditions. If it’s going to be sunny, make sure to wear sunscreen and a hat. If it’s going to be windy, have a hair tie in hand.
  2. Second, plan your location ahead of time. Have a backup location in case your first choice is too crowded or too sunny/shady.
  3. Third, pack all the necessary gear including your camera, lenses, extra batteries, and memory cards.
  4. Fourth, arrive early to set up and take test shots.
  5. And lastly, be prepared to improvise!

Outdoor sessions can sometimes be unpredictable so be prepared!

Do you prefer working with couples or families during outdoor sessions?

Outdoor photography sessions present some unique challenges, but they can also be a lot of fun. I prefer working with couples or families because it’s more interesting and dynamic than just photographing one person.

But I have to say that I really enjoy the challenge of trying to capture the personalities of a whole family or group of people during a session. It’s always more fun for me when I can get everyone to loosen up and have some fun with the session. And the results can be really rewarding too!
